Vietnam installed too much roof solar.

Install too much photovolaic plants is one of waste.Let's read the report about the roof solar installation.

Recently, Nguyen Dening, director of Vietnam's national power dispatching center, said that due to the "explosive" growth of renewable energy projects such as photovoltaic power plants, especially rooftop solar power plants, in 2020, Vietnam's midday photovoltaic power generation peak period overcapacity and North-South 500 KV power transmission channels overload. Vietnam plans to cut 500 million kwh of photovoltaic power generation in 2021.

In 2020, Vietnam's new rooftop photovoltaic capacity will exceed 9 gigawatts. The cumulative installed capacity of rooftop PV increased from 378 MW in 2019 to 9.583 GW, an increase of 2435%. Ruan Dening pointed out that in June 2020, the peak output power of roof solar power generation has reached 6000 MWP, and it will climb to 10000 MWP by the end of the year. In NingShun, Pingshun and some central provinces, the scale of photovoltaic power restriction has reached 365 million kwh.

In a recent report issued by Vietnam electric power group, it has been pointed out that in Vietnam, photovoltaic power generation has accounted for 1 / 4 of the whole power system, and the explosive growth of photovoltaic installed capacity has affected the stability of Vietnam's distribution system.

As early as at the Vietnam Photovoltaic Exhibition in 2019, the sales staff of China inverter company said: "the photovoltaic installed capacity is growing too fast, but the foundation of Vietnam power grid is too weak. Although the projects seem to be connected to the grid, there is a great possibility of" power rationing "in the later stage."

Ruan Dening pointed out that the recent "swarm" development of rooftop solar energy has led to an embarrassing situation. It is necessary to formulate clear industry standards and relevant policy details, make overall consideration, and limit disordered development. Nguyen said that at present, the Vietnamese government has suggested that some small hydropower projects adjust their power generation time and suspend power generation during the peak sunshine period from 11 to 13 o'clock every day to make more space for photovoltaic projects.

In response, ieefa also pointed out: "Vietnam's energy authorities need to fully consider the rapid and bold development momentum of renewable energy industry and re formulate energy policies."

Ieefa further said that the surge in installed rooftop photovoltaic capacity in Vietnam shows that local private investors are enthusiastic about renewable energy investment and have a strong ability to resist risks. "According to the statistics of Vietnam Banking Association, as of June 2020, Vietnam's domestic banks have provided a total of US $360 million in loans to renewable energy projects, and only paid one third of the amount in the first half of 2020."

Ieefa stressed that photovoltaic power plants invested by private capital are booming, and their power generation has reached more than 3.5 times of Vietnam government's "2016-2020 renewable energy capacity plan", and it is expected that large-scale wind power projects will be completed and delivered by the end of 2021. "Compared with traditional energy, developers of renewable energy projects have more decisive decision-making ability and project delivery ability. In 2020, after several rounds of planning and demonstration, Vietnam will only add 1.2 gigawatts of coal-fired power installed capacity, which can not be compared with photovoltaic and other renewable energy. And the official renewable energy forecasts are often very conservative, far behind the actual development of the power market, which poses a huge challenge to the Vietnamese government's power planning.
